Ryan Adams '03 Speaks to Art Classes

Ryan Adams ’03 gave his time to talk about his career as an artist with Intro to Art Classes at Cheverus. Ryan has found success as a graffiti style muralist. Although we are fortunate enough to see a lot of his work in the Portland area, his work has been comissioned all across the United States. When asked, he told the students that one of his career highlights (so far) was being asked to do a mural at the Nike Headquarters in Oregon (which was also later seen in a Drake music video). His bold and colorful pieces often bring attention to social and cultural issues. Learn more about Ryan’s work on his website or by following him on Instagram @ryanwritesonthings.
Ian McDonald '02 finds success in the movies

Ian McDonald ’02 wrote the script and was an executive producer for the Netflix movie “Woman of the Hour”. The movie is directed by and stars fellow Maine native, Anna Kendrick and is based on a true story. When we reached out to Ian he said: “I currently lives in Los Angeles with my wife Julia Max. I am working on several other projects but, unfortunately, I can’t really talk about most of them at the moment. The one exception is that I produced a film which was written and directed by my wife, Julia. It’s called The Surrender and will be premiering this March at the SXSW Film Festival.”
