Regional Network Events

Grinnell’s Regional Network events connect alumni, build community, and celebrate the spirit of Grinnell. From cozy dinners to lively summer picnics, these events foster meaningful connections among Grinnellians of all ages and backgrounds.

Each event—small or large—is an opportunity to strengthen bonds with the College and each other. Successful gatherings are inclusive, engaging, and leave participants feeling connected and inspired.

Signature Events

Signature Events form the foundation of each regional network’s calendar. These hallmark gatherings occur throughout the year and offer structured, uniquely Grinnellian ways to engage your local alumni community.

Summer Picnics

Held in cities nationwide every year, these casual gatherings welcome the incoming class of Grinnell students into the alumni fold. Hosts may organize events in parks, restaurants, or even their own backyards. Picnics are typically held between mid- to late June and mid-August.

Winter Parties

Winter Parties offer a welcome reprieve from the cold and are a great excuse to connect (and reconnect) while current Grinnell students are home on break. Hosts can plan gatherings in their homes, local venues, or other warm, welcoming spaces. Winter Parties usually occur in mid-January before current students return to campus.

Additional Events

Regional Network coordinators and volunteers also host events tailored to local interests and seasonal opportunities. There’s always something happening, from craft nights to trivia contests, happy hours to museum meetups. These events help alumni stay connected year-round—and have fun doing it.
