Danelle Taylor Johnston joined the Alumni Association in January 2023 as managing editor of the ALUMNI JOURNAL. She has spent much of her career in education, teaching at Loma Linda Academy as a high school English and visual arts teacher and most recently at La Sierra University as an adjunct English professor. She holds an MA in English.

Danelle is originally from Sydney, Australia, and has spent time living in Paris, France, studying French; Bangkok, Thailand, as a first-grade teacher; and has lived throughout the US, including in Portland, Maine, where she studied documentary photography.

Danelle and her husband live in Loma Linda, with their two kitties. They love to backpack, explore national parks, travel, and spend time with family and friends. Danelle’s side passion is making and selling bean-to-bar hand-crafted chocolate.

A lover of storytelling, Danelle is excited to help document the stories of the LLUSM alumni.
