LLUSM News: Leadership Updates
Anthony Hilliard ’02 has been appointed as acting chief executive officer for Loma Linda University Health (LLUH) hospitals. Hilliard, currently serving as chief operating officer of LLU Faculty Medical Group and chief of the division of cardiology, will bring his extensive experience in health care leadership and clinical excellence to this new role.

Travis Losey ’02, chair of the department of neurology, will serve as the new vice president of research affairs. Losey will succeed Michael Samardzija, PhD, JD, who served in the position since 2016 and announced earlier this year his intention to return to the practice of law.

Nolan Maloney ’15 has been selected as the new medical director for the pathologists’ assistant program, just as the program welcomes the class of 2026, its 10th cohort. In his new role, Maloney is dedicated to enhancing the education of pathologists’ assistants, aiming to help them develop a broad skill set that will serve them well in their careers.

Jaime López, EdD, is the new associate dean for student affairs at Loma Linda University School of Medicine effective July 30, 2024. López came to Loma Linda University School of Medicine from Puerto Rico after serving as the associate dean of student affairs at the School of Medicine, Universidad Central del Caribe in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
