ALUMNI NEWS: Alumni Featured on Andrew Huberman Podcast/YouTube
Roger Seheult ’00 was recently featured on the Huberman Lab podcast which boasts 5-10 million unique listeners per month. The pulmonary, critical-care, and sleep specialist discussed evidence-based, easily obtainable, low cost interventions to improve immunity and longevity.
The 3.5 hour podcast touched specifically on the evidence for the benefits of sunlight (outside of vitamin D), hydrotherapy, fresh air, avoidance of light at night, and trust in God. Many studies are now confirming that sunlight has benefits far beyond just the benefits of vitamin D and that more sun exposure (especially in green spaces) is closely associated with less all-cause mortality.
Seheult also touched on his critical-care experience during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the standard medical practice during the 1918 pandemic in relation to Adventist sanitariums, Ellen G. White and the moto of Loma Linda University, “To Make Man Whole.” Many commented that this episode was one of the top 10 best episodes of the Huberman Lab Podcast.
