Eric Esrailian ’00, MPH, a UCLA physician, educator, and human rights advocate, received the 2025 Ellis Island Medal of Honor for his exceptional service to society. Inspired by his Armenian heritage and great-grandparents’ survival of genocide, Esrailian has dedicated his career to health care, education, philanthropy, and social justice. From producing films on the Armenian Genocide and establishing the Promise Institute for Human Rights, his impact spans medicine and global humanitarian work.
