ALUMNI GATHERINGS: From Hawaii to Loma Linda

By Chaltu Sandiford, alumni relations and events manager

Alumni enjoy a sunset dinner cruise at the first Oahu, Hawaii, Alumni Gathering, held January 16–19, 2026.

The Alumni Gathering on Oahu, Hawaii, January 16–19, 2026, featured engaging Continuing Medical Education lectures led by Vivien Wong ’84, Andrew Chang ’02, and Amy Hayton ’04, creating a rich program of shared learning and meaningful professional connections.

The weekend concluded with a beautiful sunset dinner cruise aboard a private charter, giving alumni the chance to reconnect and reminisce against the backdrop of Waikiki and one of Hawaii’s famous sunsets, made even more memorable by an unexpected whale sighting.

We look forward to making this an annual tradition and hope you’ll join us for our 2027 trip. Stay tuned for more details as plans come together!

The final Alumni Gathering of the year was a young alumni Gathering, hosted at the home of April Wilson ’06 and Thad Wilson ’06 in Loma Linda, California. Alumni and friends enjoyed a beautiful afternoon connecting with former classmates and taking a welcome break from the busyness of life.

This event completed the goal of Barbara Chase McKinney ’88, past president, of holding 10 Alumni Gatherings across the nation, connecting alumni and celebrating her passion for fostering meaningful connections and a strong sense of community.
