The Association of Adventist Women honored WANDA PHIPATANAKUL ’94 with the 2025 Woman of the Year Award in Medical Science at their annual meetings. Phipatanakul is a S. Jean Emans professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and director of Boston Children’s Hospital Clinical Research Center’s asthma, allergy, immunology, dermatology, and rheumatology departments. Phipatanakul is an expert clinical researcher in the environment and epidemiologic risk factors of asthma and allergies. Working in local communities and around the globe, she has designed, managed, and implemented large clinical research programs, integrated with NIH, pharma. Her work, particularly in children, focuses on reducing health disparities and broadening perspectives, fostering belonging, and promoting fairness.
