Gatling to Serve as DIO and Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education in 2026

Loma Linda University Medical Center and Loma Linda University School of Medicine recommend JASON GATLING ’02, to serve as Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for the Loma Linda University Health Education Consortium (LLUHEC). Gatling will assume responsibilities for associate dean for graduate medical education in 2026. Gatling will work alongside current associate dean for graduate medical education, DANIEL GIANG ’83, during a planned transition period to July 2026. Giang, who has served in this role since 1996, will step down at that time, with Gatling slated to assume full responsibilities. In these roles, Gatling will manage and oversee accreditation and administrative services for graduate medical education and residency training programs. LLUHEC supports over 850 residents and fellows across 70 accredited programs. Gatling, an associate professor of anesthesiology, joined the School of Medicine faculty in 2009 and currently serves as residency program director for anesthesiology. The position is pending approval by the Loma Linda University Health Board of Trustees.
