Cody Carter ’13

CODY CARTER ’13, assistant professor of pathology and human anatomy, has been named assistant dean for basic science education at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Since joining the faculty in 2019, he has practiced surgical pathology at Loma Linda University Health (LLUH) and served as pathology thread director and co-director of the hematology/ immunology block for the School of Medicine. In recognition of his excellence in teaching, Carter was named the 2024 Basic Science Teacher of the Year by the Walter E. Macpherson Society. He is committed to sharing his passion for cancer diagnostics and inspiring his students to pursue a deep understanding of disease at the cellular level.

SCOTT LEE, MD, vice chair of research for the department of medicine, has been named assistant dean for clinical research at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. In his new role, Lee will oversee clinical research for the School of Medicine, providing strategic support through educational programs, training, and direct faculty engagement. He will also work closely with LLUH Research Affairs to strengthen the existing partnership. Lee joined Loma Linda University faculty in 1998 and currently serves as professor of medicine, vice chair for research in the department of medicine, and medical director of the Diabetes Treatment Center.
