ALUMNI NEWS: 1950 Class Known as the Class of 'Old Men and Beautiful Woman'
Alvin R. Kincaid ’50 was a high school science teacher in Seattle, Washington, when he received a letter inviting him to attend the College of Medical Evangelists (CME), his daughter, Kandice Cummings (SDH’85), shared. Kincaid uprooted his family and moved to Loma Linda, graduating with the class of 1950. He said his class was called “The class of old men and beautiful women,” because there were so many women in that class, unusual for that day, and the young men were in the war. CME filled the class with SDA science majors.
