Blair Lowry joined the TVS family on June 1, and has been going ninety to nothing since then. She has handled a new job in a new city during a pandemic with grace and a wonderful perspective. Our alma mater is in very, very capable – and kind – hands.
Blair is eager to get to know our alumni, and since she is not able to spend time with you in person, let’s do the 2020-ish next best thing: Zoom!

I am Grace McCurdy, a junior at Trinity Valley School. I started classes here in kindergarten. Last September, on the 60th Founders Day, I realized there were no artifacts to see on campus from the School’s rich and interesting history. I set about on a project to collect memorabilia, photos, and news clippings to create and install a museum-quality display that celebrates our founder, Stephen Seleny, and our School’s history.
Over the past year I have received many wonderful items from the Seleny family, alumni, and current and former faculty. But I still need your help. I would like to finish collecting items by the summer of 2021. Please consider looking through your closets and drawers and donating items and keepsakes that celebrate the past 61 years of TVS. Each item will be photographed, archived, and eventually given to the School for a display or to educate future students. When TVS moved to the Dutch Branch campus in 1998, the School began tolling the tower bells in memory of members of the TVS family who had passed away. This has become a very special tradition that not only honors loved ones but also allows our students to observe reverence and respect modeled in a beautiful way.
On Wednesday, November 11, TVS students and teachers gatheredfor a special tolling of the bells ceremony. Our current health protocols prevent having visitors on campus, so in lieu of our typical weekly tollings where family members can attend the ceremony, we are having three special tollings this school year. Holding the first one on Veterans Day gave teachers and students an added opportunity to learn more about, reflect on, and honor our veterans while recognizing the TVS loved ones who had passed away.
If you would like TVS to remember your loved one at the next tolling, tentatively scheduled for February, please click here and share that information. We will send you the link to a video of that tolling, since you are unable to be on campus.
