Upon making the leap from the North Atlantic Conference to the SUNYAC in Fall 2024, women’s basketball and women’s and men’s ice hockey were the first out of the gate to earn playoff appearances.
Women’s basketball posted a 16-11 season in 2024-2025 and earned their first-ever spot in the SUNYAC tournament. They beat Plattsburgh in the first round but succumbed to top-seed Cortland in the semifinals, concluding a successful season. First-year forward Kat McRobbie-Taru ’28 led the scoring during the game with 18 points and was named to the SUNYAC All-Tournament Team.

Women’s ice hockey also advanced to the conference semifinals, battling nationally ranked Oswego. With 38 saves by goalie Alyssa Townsley ’28, the Roos concluded their season with a 2-1 loss.
Men’s ice hockey took on Buffalo State in the first round of their SUNYAC tournament, with first-year forward Logan Kelly ’28 scoring two goals and one assist, wrapping up their season with a 6-4 loss.
“Our Winter teams led the way last year, and we were happy to see three of them make it to the playoffs in our first year participating in the very tough SUNYAC,” said Athletics Director Randy B. Sieminski. “We were also very proud to finish ahead of both Potsdam and Morrisville in the overall SUNYAC Commissioner’s Cup standings.”
