Remi Roberts '14

Remi Roberts worked as a White House Liaison in the Biden-Harris Administration, advising on personnel matters and presidential appointments.

Remi served as the White House Liaison to the Office of the Administrator at the U.S. Small Business Administration. In her role, she served as the primary advisor to the White House and the SBA administrator, deputy administrator, and chief of staff on programs and personnel matters across the agency. Her duties included overseeing the presidential appointment process for agency personnel, retention and performance monitoring, as well as program support and coordinating the implementation of various strategic initiatives and Presidential priorities.

Before joining the SBA, Remi served as advisor to the deputy secretary at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. There, she supported the department’s chief operating officer in various capacities: overseeing day-to-day operations, serving as the senior sponsor for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives, leading the department’s employee engagement efforts, fostering the young career talent pipeline, and supporting department-wide communications.

Remi graduated from The George Washington University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing and a minor in Africana studies.

Prior to joining the federal government, Remi held several roles in political campaigns and operations management. Notably, she worked for the Biden-Harris campaign in Pennsylvania — the grassroots state ultimately responsible for determining the 2020 presidential election.

On what calls her to public service, Remi says: “Sometimes the best way to fix a system that you deem is broken is to get your hands dirty and do the work. If we wish to see representation, sometimes we have to become it for others. It’s hard to be ignored when you have a seat at the table.”

Remi is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and coaches gymnastics for D.C. youth — a throwback to her collegiate athlete days, when she was a student gymnastics coach and a member of the rowing team.
